SMS Notification Program — Terms & Opt-In Information

Last updated: May 18, 2026

Etactics, Inc. operates an SMS notification program that allows healthcare providers using the Etactics patient portal to send their patients account-related text messages, including billing statement notifications and payment reminders.

This page describes how patients opt in to the SMS program, what messages they will receive, and how to opt out.

─────────────────────────────────────────────
Who sends these messages

Messages are sent by Etactics on behalf of the healthcare provider with whom the patient has an existing account relationship. Each message identifies the provider it relates to. Etactics is a healthcare clearinghouse and patient communications platform; we send these messages as a service to the provider, and only after the patient has affirmatively consented within the patient portal.

─────────────────────────────────────────────
What messages patients receive

Patients enrolled in the program may receive SMS messages including:

• Notifications that a new billing statement is available
• Payment reminders for outstanding balances
• Confirmations of payments received
• Account-related service updates

Patients will not receive marketing messages, promotional content, or messages unrelated to their account with the healthcare provider.

Message frequency varies based on account activity, but typically does not exceed 3 messages per month.

─────────────────────────────────────────────
How patients opt in

Patients opt in to the SMS program directly within the patient portal hosted by their healthcare provider and powered by Etactics. The opt-in flow works as follows:

1. The patient logs in to the patient portal using their existing credentials.
2. The patient navigates to the Notification Preferences section of their account settings.
3. The patient enters their mobile phone number into the designated field.
4. The patient reviews the SMS consent disclosure (shown below) and affirmatively checks the consent checkbox.
5. The patient clicks Save Preferences to confirm enrollment.

Consent is recorded with a timestamp and stored in the patient's account record. No SMS messages are sent until this affirmative consent has been captured.

The consent language displayed to patients in the portal reads as follows:

" By opting in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive automated text messages from [Provider Name] at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies.

Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP

Opting out of SMS will revert your delivery preference to email. Your account and billing activity will not be affected.

We do not share your mobile number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Supported carriers include but are not limited to: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and other major US carriers. [Provider Name]  is not liable for delays caused by carrier transmission."

How patients opt out

Patients can stop receiving SMS messages at any time using either method:

• Reply STOP to any message received from the program. The patient will receive one final confirmation message acknowledging the opt-out, and no further messages will be sent.
• Update preferences in the portal by logging in, navigating to Notification Preferences, and unchecking the SMS consent checkbox.

Opt-out requests are processed immediately and honored across all message categories within the program.

─────────────────────────────────────────────
How patients get help

Patients with questions about the SMS program can:

• Reply HELP to any message to receive an automated response with program information and support contact details.
• Contact their healthcare provider directly using the contact information on their billing statement or in the patient portal.

─────────────────────────────────────────────
Message and data rates

Standard message and data rates may apply based on the patient's mobile carrier and plan. Etactics does not charge patients for SMS messages; however, the patient's wireless carrier may charge for incoming text messages depending on the patient's plan.

─────────────────────────────────────────────
Supported carriers

The SMS program is compatible with all major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Etactics does not share or sell mobile phone numbers, opt-in data, or any consent information collected through the SMS program with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to deliver the SMS messages described above on behalf of the patient's healthcare provider.
